Bill Murray is an American actor, comedian, and author. He became recognized first by acting on Saturday Night Live with a succession of performances which got him his own firstEmmy Award. He was born September 21, 1950, inEvanston, Illinois asWilliam James Murray. His dad Edward Joseph Murray II wasa lumbersalesman along with his mother,Lucille, a mail room clerk.
Early Life
Murray was increased inWilmette, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago, along with his eight sisters. Their dad died in 1967 at age 46 from complications ofdiabeteswhen Bill had been 17 years old. He also attended St. Joseph’s tier college andLoyola Academy. In his teenage years, he functioned as agolf caddyto finance his education in the Jesuit high school while becoming the lead singer of a rock group known as the Dutch Masters. In addition, he participate in community theatre and school. After high school, Murray attendedRegis UniversityinDenver, Colorado, carrying pre-medical classes. He returned to Illinois and dropped out. At age 20,Murray was detained at Chicago’sO’Hare Airportfor attempting to smuggle 10lb (4.5kg) ofcannabis, which he’d supposedly meant to sell. All thanks for his brother Brian, Murray started studies in behaving atThe Second Cityin Chicago, animprovisational comedytroupe, underDel Close. Later in 1974, he relocated to New York Cityand was showcased byJohn Belushi on The National Lampoon Radio Hour ( humor radio series ). Following the comedy radio series arrived his first television role on Saturday Night Live with Howard Cosell where he featuredas a cast member of theABCvariety series. This was followed closely by his first part in a film that came in 1979 when he starred in Meatballs. His other film characters were in Caddyshack, Stripes Tootsie Ghostbusters,Scrooged, among others. In addition, he got anAcademy Awardnomination forBest Actor and received Golden Globe nominations for his roles in Ghostbusters, Rushmore, Hyde Park on Hudson, St. Vincent. He won his secondPrimetime EmmyAward because of his role in HBO miniseries Olive Kitteridge. Bill was married and divorced twice. His first try at union withMargaret Kelly crumbled because of a supposed affair he’d withJennifer Butler. The union lasted for nearly 11-yearsn (1985-1996) and they had two sons together. His affair with Butler turned out to not become a mere rumor as a few presumed at that moment, as he tied the knots together with her only a year after breaking up from his former spouse. The couple were wed from 1997 to 2008 when Butler filed for divorce on allegations of sexaddiction and medication, adultery and domestic violence. Butler maintained the Lost in Translation star hit her in the face in 2007 — she added she had been blessed to not have been murdered by him. It was also alleged that his adulterous lifestyle, drug/alcohol dependency got so poor that Jennifer had to go out with her sonsto South Carolina two decades until they were formally divorced.
