For somebody who’s great both as an actor, composer, producer and manager, it wouldn’t be out of place to tackle Jeff Richmond asacreative genius or perhaps a quadruple threat. He’s responsible for writing the songs to its sitcom 30 Rock, which he also directed a few episodes. He had been bornJeffrey Wayne Richmond on January 7, 1961, inGarrettsville, Ohio. Richmond graduated from James A. Garfield High School Garrettsville, Ohio, in 1979. His passion for thearts didn’t only happen, he’d constantly hada fire that explains why he had been oneof the creators ofthe Garrettsville Community Players, wherehe first started to demo hisskill inchoreographing, directing and other artistic abilities and won the John Philip Sousaaward. Following High School, he travelled toKent State University for his school education. Career
It’s all but impossible to distinguish Jeff’s life from his livelihood because both appear to be interwoven. Before he took the task ofcomposing songs to its Saturday Night Live series, Richmond had worked in The Second City and the Child’s Touring Theatre. After departing the Saturday Night Live (SNL), he started composing and producing music for the sitcom 30 Rock as well as sometimes emerging as an extra on the show. In 2008, Jeff Richmond wrote the soundtrack for the movie Baby Mama, in 2010, he led five episodes of this 30 Rock. He’s also emerged in late Night with Conan O’Brienplaying the personality of “Russian Hat Guy”. Back in 1998, while he was with theSecond City Theatre that he had been nominated for a 1998Joseph JeffersonAward for Manager of a Revue for P romise Keepers, Losers Weepers. The next year (1999), he had been nominated forJoseph JeffersonAward for Director of a Revue for The Revelation Won’t Be Televised. He’s also been nominated for the Emmy for composing the theme tune for the exact same sitcom (30 Stone ).
